About.
I am committed to building bridges between Europe and the world, transforming policies and partnerships into sustainable solutions that create lasting impact.
I am Elodie Ritzenthaler, founder of Europe and Globe and consultant, with over 20 years of experience in European policies, trade, and international cooperation.
A graduate of the College of Europe (Natolin) and the Institute of Political Sciences in Lyon, I specialize in trade policy, private sector development, competitiveness, and sustainable value chains, with strong expertise on the European Green Deal, circular economy, and inclusion.
Since 2003, I have worked extensively with many international donors including the European Commission, AFD, Proparco, GIZ, FCDO, SIDA, USAID etc., managing and leading projects across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Central and Eastern Europe. My experience spans from policy analysis and trade negotiations to capacity building, program management, private sector development and public-private dialogue.
As a consultant, speaker, and trainer, I am keen at making complex policies understandable and at transforming them into actionable solutions, empowering stakeholders, and promoting sustainable, inclusive development.
I launched a podcast series called "Forests: African realities" to make my expertise on African value chains and the challenges of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) more accessible, and to open broader reflections — because I believe knowledge should be widely shared.
I have recently decided to train in No Code and Artificial Intelligence, as the world is changing and, when used wisely, these tools can be true game changers in how we deliver technical assistance, how companies and institutions implement projects and influence policies.
